"…or else the West's relative peacefulness post-1945 will be only a blip, like the four or five decades after the Congress of Vienna."The post-1815 and post-1945 periods are the longest periods of peace in the West since at least the early Roman Empire (Pax Romana). I wouldn't call them blips. Blips compared to what? Long peaceful periods like that are anomalies. Frequent warfare is more representative of the general sweep of history.

Nette Anwendung.

I had been a regular donor and have donated 64 times from my college days (once in 3 months compulsorily). I stopped giving after i was diagnosed as diabetic. I have been taking medicine regularly (not using insulin or used insulin any time). I read an article recently that if you are a type II diabetic, you can donate blood. Is it true. I am now 59 years old and would continue to donate for a noble cause.

The blog shared is very impressive. By donating voluntary blood to the needy ones one can become life donor. Now a days most of people are social, so I think social awareness is one of the top most way to reach blood donors and and thus giving most selfless and gracious gifts to one whose life can be saved by donating blood.

    Reply
  • lakshmi January 18, 2017, 5:53 am

Yes Anandita you can donate blood. You have to wait atleast 12 months after you got inked because bloodborne diseases may spread by needles and 12-month deferral period is thought to be enough time for any bloodborne disease to surface so we can be aware of it before donating.

Hey This blog is Awesome …Best thing to eat before donating Plasma: Drink plenty of water or juice the night before and the day of your donation. Be sure to eat a healthy (but not necessarily large) meal no more than three hours before giving plasma. BioLife recommends eating foods high in proteins such as lean meat or complex carbohydrates such as bread, cereal, fruits, etc
