Time for a reality check. Thanks to marginal (read low and negligable) budget allocation for medical and healthcare sector, India has earned a shameful distinction of being one of the lowest in the world in terms of public spending on health. Low budget allocation means not many hospitals, facilities, resources and manpower to take care of healthcare.
And because most of the expenditure on health comes from people’s pockets, it is but natural for aam-junta to look out for cheaper alternatives, solutions and cures – without knowing the consequences of taking that route.
This video is a slice-of-life of Indian healthcare scenario. The dilapidated centers that provide healthcare, quacks that replace medical doctors, serpentine queues at existing medical facilites, and more.
Affordable and qualittative healthcare is still a distant dream.
